About me
Dr. Hannah Chesser is a pediatric endocrinologist who cares for children with a variety of endocrine conditions. These include type 1 and type 2 diabetes; growth and puberty disorders; thyroid and adrenal gland disorders; menstrual disorders, such as polycystic ovary syndrome (in which the ovaries produce excessive amounts of sex hormones called androgens); and disorders of bone metabolism, such as rickets. Her research focuses on thyroid disorders in newborns, diabetes technology, and type 2 diabetes in children.
Chesser earned her medical degree from the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She completed a residency in pediatrics at University of North Carolina Hospitals and a fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at UCSF. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Pediatric Endocrine Society and American Diabetes Association.
In her free time, Chesser enjoys hiking, cooking, traveling and spending time with her two children. She has visited all 50 states and particularly enjoys the beauty and outdoor activities available in California. She volunteers on the medical team at a summer camp for kids with diabetes sponsored by Diabetes Youth Families.
