Become a Volunteer at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals!
Volunteers are special members of our team. Without them, we couldn't do what we do and wouldn't be who we are. At UCSF Health we describe our mission – the reason we exist – as "caring, healing, teaching and discovering." Each volunteer who joins our community helps us advance that mission.
Prospective volunteers must attend a mandatory volunteer information session before completing the application process. Please visit the volunteer requirements page for registration information.
Volunteers' assignments vary. Some greet families as they arrive at the hospital. Others help visitors get where they're going. A few cuddle newborns (one of our most requested assignments)! While supporting patients and their families, volunteers have the opportunity to learn new skills and explore a career in health care, under the supervision of professional staff. Our volunteers come from all walks of life, bringing with them a wide range of perspectives and talents that enhance the experience of those in our care.
